    2. LANGUAGE - By leveraging the FEYDEY online curriculum, GSE® students will gain exposure and control over many conventions of standard English grammar, usage, and mechanics as well as learn other ways to use language to convey meaning effectively. They will also be able to determine or clarify the meaning of grade-appropriate words encountered through listening, reading, and media use as well as come to appreciate that words have non-literal meanings, shadings of meaning, and relationships to other words; and expand their vocabulary in the course of studying content.
    3. Speaking and Listening - by using the FEYDEY online curriculum, GSE® students will have ample opportunities to take part in a variety of rich, structured conversations—as part of a whole class, in small groups, and with a partner. Being productive members of these conversations requires that students contribute accurate, relevant information; respond to and develop what others have said; make comparisons and contrasts; and analyze and synthesize a multitude of ideas in various domains. They begin to adapt the form and content of their writing to accomplish a particular task and purpose. They develop the capacity to build knowledge on a subject through research projects and to respond analytically to literary and informational sources. To meet these goals, GSE® students will devote significant time and effort to writing, producing numerous pieces over short and extended time frames throughout the school year
    5. READING - By leveraging the FEYDEY online curriculum, GSE® students will read widely and deeply from among a broad range of high quality, increasingly challenging literary and informational texts. Through extensive reading of stories, dramas, poems, and myths from diverse cultures and different time periods, students gain literary and cultural knowledge as well as familiarity with various text structures and elements. By reading texts in history/social studies, science, and other disciplines, students build a foundation of knowledge in these fields that will also give them the background to be better readers in all content areas. Students can only gain this foundation when the curriculum is intentionally and coherently structured to develop rich content knowledge within and across grades. Students also acquire the habits of reading independently and closely, which are essential to their future success.

This opportunity allows the student to regain his/her grade level status, if successful, in order not to be retained. Additionally, each student will need to complete a pretest. An Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) comprised of a series of lessons that address the standards that were not mastered on the pretest will be automatically generated on the student's home page. Students will answer formative and summative assessments embedded within the lessons. On demand, live online instructors provide additional assistance. At the end of the course, the student will receive a posttest to confirm mastery of the content.
      Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®)
At FEYDEY, testing is used as a tool to assess each individual student's existing subject-matter mastery, record progress, and to adjust their personal academic program to ensure that they are receiving appropriate levels of support and rigor. Testing does not play a role in admissions decisions.

Success is not measured by raw test scores but rather by the rate of development that each student achieves, and that critical metric is monitored using the NWEA's Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). MAP creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student's learning level. Using MAP upon each student's entry to the school, and periodically thereafter assessment data is generated. This data is used to show what each student knows and is ready to learn, allowing us to:

      • Prescribe instruction using valid, reliable, and real-time data
      • Measure the growth of every student over time, regardless of their status at, above, or below grade-level performance even if standards change
      • Engage students and families in goal-setting
      • Create and reinforce evidence-informed instructional practices
      • Evaluate programs and identify professional development needs
      • Compare and predict student achievement and growth over time via exclusive normative and growth information
The core curriculum used at FEYDEY is directly correlated to the MAP assessment, allowing us to dynamically select the appropriate resources for each student and adjust the pace of instruction to meet the student's needs.

FEYDEY is also proud to partner with NWEA™ MAP® assessment to help generate Individualised Learning Plans (ILP). Educators who administer MAP can now import test results into FEYDEY LMS to generate ILPs. The sequence of instructional content matches the students' current achievements at all grade and ability levels and helps foster growth that can be tracked through additional MAP testing.
      Benchmark Testing
FEYDEY offers benchmark assessments, used to track grade level mastery and growth throughout the year and to assess end-of-year outcomes. Benchmark assessments provide information to gauge students' strengths and needs against end-of-year standards in core subject areas. Benchmark testing helps determine whether a school is on-track to meet end-of-year goals. Benchmark testing allows for early interventions to be set in place to address the deficiencies of students before the actual state testing occurs.

      The Purpose of Benchmark Testing
      • Assessments are used to track student mastery of course standards.
      • Assess progress toward end of year outcomes.
      • Support tool to help teachers gauge student strengths and needs.

Customizable solutions based upon district specifications
      • Assessments are based upon state and national standards.
      • Correlated to quarterly or six week testing periods.

      Students will:
      1. Build their academic foundation in subjects like reading, writing, math, and science. They understand key principles and procedures, recall facts, use the correct language, and draw on their knowledge to complete new tasks.
      2. LANGUAGE - By leveraging the FEYDEY online curriculum, GSE® students will gain exposure and control over many conventions of standard English grammar, usage, and mechanics as well as learn other ways to use language to convey meaning effectively. They will also be able to determine or clarify the meaning of grade-appropriate words encountered through listening, reading, and media use; come to appreciate that words have non-literal meanings, shadings of meaning, and relationships to other words; and expand their vocabulary in the course of studying content.
      3. Speaking and Listening - the FEYDEY online curriculum, GSE® students will have ample opportunities to take part in a variety of rich, structured conversations—as part of a whole class, in small groups, and with a partner. Being productive members of these conversations requires that students contribute accurate, relevant information; respond to and develop what others have said; make comparisons and contrasts; and analyze and synthesize a multitude of ideas in various domains. New technologies have broadened and expanded the role that speaking and listening play in acquiring and sharing knowledge and have tightened their link to other forms of communication. Digital texts confront students with the potential for continually updated content and dynamically changing combinations of words, graphics, images, hyperlinks, and embedded video and audio.

        FEYDEY LMS Structure & Features
        Course Structure
This course consists of four self-paced modules and Live Instruction. Each module contains review content and guides, videos, projects and forum questions, and assessments.

        Review Content & Guides
Experts making use of real time examples and best practices prepare our content and teaching guides. Students are assessed then and there with practice questions that are embedded with the lessons. This makes sure the students are on track with the concepts discussed.

        Videos
Videos embedded within the lesson and at the end of the lesson, as supplemental, introduce new concepts and allow students to see them in action.

        Projects & Forum questions
Projects and forum questions at the end of the lessons enable students to put the concepts discussed in the lesson into practice. These creative tasks help them develop a greater understanding of the concepts by putting them into action. These activities also enable knowledge transfer within and among students.

        Assessments & Worksheets
Students are assessed on a diagnostic pre-test to determine their present level of performance. Students work on formative and summative assessments (Interactive Guided Practice, Multiple Choice, and Open-Ended Questions) that are built into each aligned lesson that ensures mastery of all objectives. There are also Unit Tests at the end of each unit that enable students to review the concepts discussed in the units. In addition, students are assessed on bench-marking assessments and worksheets throughout the course in an effort to predict success on the test preps.

        Live Instructors
All our instructors are regularly trained and monitored to insure that the highest level of instructional support is provided to every student. Students are given the opportunity to rate each session at the end.

        Guidelines
1 Please work on the course activities that are listed in sequential order on the drop down menu that also contains a course tree.
The order of activities typically include the: course pretest, unit lessons, supplemental, project assignments, lesson posttests, and course posttest.

2 Additionally, if your district provides a pacing guide for course activities, this information can be viewed on the calendar.

the questions may change from one attempt to another!

4 Activities/Modules can be customised according to your school's requirements.
